Dual Credit Information

As you are thinking of classes to take your senior or junior year, please remember you are able to take college dual credit courses. As a junior or senior you can receive high school and college credit at the same time and at an affordable cost.  The cost for dual credit it $48.33 per credit.  I wanted to pass along a few reminders of requirements to take certain classes.

It is strongly encouraged that you know with almost 100% certainty whether you are going to attend a tech school or a 4-year university.  Some credits are not able to be transferred if you decide to attend a different school.  Also please keep in mind the following:

Requirements for Tech school Dual Credit: MTI, STI, LATI, etc
  • You should apply to the program of your choice before taking dual credit classes.

  • Look at your curriculum and decide which classes to take in your program.

  • Some schools want you to take the ACCUPLACER exam first before taking classes.  (Check with the school before signing up for classes).

  • You are able to take the ACCUPLACER here at school for most of the South Dakota tech schools.

See Ms. Gloden with questions or to get a dual credit application.

Requirements for University Dual Credit: USD, SDSU, DSU, NSU, BHSU, etc.
