
Dual Credit Information
As you are thinking of classes to take your senior or junior year, please remember you are able to take college dual credit courses. As a junior or senior you can receive high school and college credit at the same time and at an affordable cost. The cost for dual credit it $48.33 per credit. I wanted to pass along a few reminders of requirements to take certain classes.
It is strongly encouraged that you know with almost 100% certainty whether you are going to attend a tech school or a 4-year university. Some credits are not able to be transferred if you decide to attend a different school. Also please keep in mind the following:

You should apply to the program of your choice before taking dual credit classes.

Look at your curriculum and decide which classes to take in your program.

Some schools want you to take the ACCUPLACER exam first before taking classes. (Check with the school before signing up for classes).

You are able to take the ACCUPLACER here at school for most of the South Dakota tech schools.

Requirements for University Dual Credit: USD, SDSU, DSU, NSU, BHSU, etc.

You need to take the ACT first!

Must have at least a 21 for your ACT Composite OR be in the upper half of your class OR have a GPA or 3.25

If you want to take Math course, must have at least a 20 in ACT Math section.

If you want to take an English course, must have at least an 18 in the ACT English section.
