Jennifer Martinez - Special Education

Hello! My name is Jennifer Martinez and I have been a part of the Bridgewater-Emery School staff for the past 8 years. I am at the Bridgewater site this year and get to spend my day with the most amazing little girl, taking care of all her needs physically and educationally. I am truly blessed to work with this beautiful young lady every school day! It is a unique position, that I am extremely grateful for.
I am originally from rural Ethan, SD and a graduate of Parkston High School. I attended Dakota Wesleyan University in Mitchell, SD where I obtained a double major in Special Education/Elementary Education with a Middle School endorsement. My husband, Tom, brokers cattle and farms with my dad and uncle. We live on the same farm that I was raised on near Ethan. We feel very fortunate to be able to raise our 4 children on the farm. We have 2 beautiful girls and 2 handsome boys. Mikalena is 21 and in her final year of nursing school. Blayne is 17 and will be graduating this spring with plans to attend South Dakota State University in the fall. Cash is 8 and in the 3rd grade. Magda is 2 and attends preschool. We are all very actively involved in the day to day happenings on the farm, especially the horses and goats that we spend our summers showing.
Here are a few fun facts about me:
-
Favorite Meal: Cereal, I could eat cereal for every meal. My favorite is Rice Krispies with a green tipped crisp banana and LOTS of sugar.
