Kari Saarie - Fifth Grade

Hi! My name is Kari Saarie, and I am excited to be teaching fifth grade this year. I have been teaching in Bridgewater for 30 years and have had the opportunity to work with many amazing students at many grade levels.
Originally, I am from New Town, North Dakota and graduated from Minot State University. I began my teaching career at a small school in Flaxton, North Dakota where I taught the first through third-grade classes. That school closed after my first year, and that’s when I moved to South Dakota. My first several years teaching in Bridgewater were at the third-grade level. After that, I taught reading and language arts to the third, fourth, and fifth grades. A couple of years later, a first-grade position opened and I decided to take on that opportunity. This year I have made another change and am excited to work with the fifth graders at Bridgewater-Emery.
My husband, Brian, and I have two kids, Dustin (21) and Nicole (19). We enjoy camping, boating, and being outdoors.
