Mary Ernster - Fourth Grade

Hi! My name Mary Ernster and I’ve been teaching 4th grade in the Bridgewater-Emery School District since 2010. I am responsible for all the 4th-grade math, science, & computers curriculum. I would describe my classroom as relaxed and upbeat most of the time. I love teaching, and it has been a true vocation for me. The best part of my job is watching kids make connections between new materials and past experiences, seeing the light bulb come on in their heads as they realize something new.

I am originally from the small town of Page, Nebraska, where my family operated a dairy and farmed. I went to St. Mary’s High School in O’Neill, Nebraska and attended Mt. Marty College. I spent seven years teaching 3rd grade before finding a home in fourth-grade at B-E. I live in Emery with my husband, Steve Ernster, and our two children, Sadie and Ty. Most of the year you can find us at some sporting event, volleyball in the fall, watching the Raptors play baseball all Spring/Summer, or hanging out at our favorite place, home.
