Patti Lager - Language Arts

Hi! I’m Patti Lager. I started teaching 7-8-9 Language Arts in the Emery School District in 1997. As the years have gone by, my job description has changed a few times. I currently teach 9 – 12 Language Arts in the Bridgewater-Emery School District. My classes include Literature, Grammar and Composition I; Speech; Literature, Grammar and Composition II; American Literature/Junior Composition; and Novels/Creative Writing. In addition, I serve as Senior Experience Coordinator and just assumed the duties of co-director of the school play with Sue Rayman. I truly enjoy working with the students and staff at BEHS! They are the best!
I graduated from Wessington Springs High School in 1985 and South Dakota State University in 1989 with a Political Science/History degree with an emphasis in education. A few years later, I added English to my degree as well.
I live with my husband, Wade who is employed by CorTrust Bank in Freeman. We have two children: Tyson who resides in South Bend, Indiana and is working on his Ph.D. in the Notre Dame Biology Department and Carli who resides in Brookings and is a senior at South Dakota State University pursuing a degree in Early Childhood and Elementary Education.
Some of my favorites include the following:
-
Spending time with family
-
Walking
-
Favorite book: To Kill a Mockingbird
-
Song: “Your Love” by the Outfield
-
Vacation: Anywhere warm on a beach
-
